I know, it’s after Halloween and I’m still sharing costume posts, oops. I had planned to share this one and Asher’s costume on Halloween, but we had an awesome night of trick or treating and then watching Halloween movies that it never happened, so now you get two more themed posts about their costumes.
This was the costume we created for Kazia this year. I found this masquerade mask at Value Village, and when I showed it to her she wanted to do something with it, so we came up with the Masquerade Fox. I picked up the suit jacket and black dress shirt for a few dollars at Value Village as well. To finish off the costume I went searching for an orange or white tutu and bow tie. I searched online for about a week but couldn’t find something that suited our vision.
About a couple weeks before Halloween I went back to Value Village to see what I could find. And I don’t know if I missed it the first time I was there or just got lucky, but I found a white bow tie and a white tutu that was short at the front and longer at the back, which I loved. As I was walking to the cashier I saw the spray on hair colour, I grabbed an orange one and knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I sprayed a bit of the orange onto the tie, and then took the tulle on the tutu and sprayed the bottom half of it with the spray on colour. I wasn’t sure how it would all turn out, but I was very pleased with the results.
To finish off the look I put a small dried out rose from my wedding bouquet into the jacket chest pocket, and voila, it was complete!
To put the look together I put Kazia’s hair up into a high bun and poked some fake flower buds into it with a pretty pin at the front and off we went to capture some images.
What does the fox say?
