Autumn in the Mountains! | Chilliwack Lake Road | Family Photography | Chilliwack, BC Family Photographer

Did you know that when you’re updating your website you not only have to adjust and maneuver everything into the correct spots so that it all flows for the desktop version but then you also have to do that for the mobile version? I don’t know why I thought my mobile version would just be out of whack. I thought if I adjusted the mobile view it would affect the desktop view that I spent days perfecting to my liking. Well guess what, they’re two separate things and the positions of your items can be adjusted on each view without affecting the other. Now that I know that, I’ve fixed and maneuvered things around and my mobile version of my webpage looks beautiful to match the beautiful desktop version. So if you checked it out the other week when I announced that I finally finished migrating everything over to the new Squarespace 7.1, I’m sorry but it was a total mess. But, if you have a look through now it should look oh so beautiful!

And since we actually still have a bunch of colour left before winter officially sets in with it’s 50 shades of brown over here, I’m going to share this session from late September when I was able to photograph this beautiful family up in the Mountains.

I love this spot but it can get a little busy some months with campers, other photographers (because hello, it’s beautiful up here), fishermen and even critters. We started this session on the farther end of the open field as a big wedding party was getting their portraits taken with that glorious mountain top behind them, but once they were finished we started moving into the open space and what should run through just a few feet away from us but a coyote. We paused, watched as it ran across the field, looking back at us to make sure we weren’t following it and then off in the bush it went so we moved forward when it was clear and continued our session with that gorgeous mountain backdrop and orange topped trees.

These beautiful people are one of my neighbours and last time I photographed them the youngest was still growing in mama’s belly (you’ll see one of the images at the bottom of this post) and even though it took us all of summer to finally find a date that we could make this session happen I’m not mad about it because the colours this time of year were spectacular up in the mountains. I’m glad our summer dates kept getting pushed back and postponed to make this happen during autumn!

Yay you made it to the bottom of the post, thanks for sticking around. I love capturing returning families and seeing how they’ve grown. These sessions were shot almost exactly 3 years apart to the day. Crazy and awesome, don’t you think. It wasn’t even planned at all, total fluke.
