Baking with kids is fun, well up until they start bickering about every little thing, who pours the next item into the mixing bowl, who gets to crack the next egg, or which cupcake liners to use and that one or the other didn’t get to put enough in of the liner they wanted …… yea fun! Haha.
But even with all the bickering, I love watching these two take an interest in learning life skills. Kazia has been asking more and more to help me with the cooking and baking, which I think is awesome.
They worked together the other day to make some banana bread, and banana muffins. The did everything on their own up until the bickering got a bit much and I threw them out of the kitchen. All that was left to do was pour the batter into the dish and muffin tray and pop it into the oven to bake. Good job to them, because it turned out delicious.
Oh, and this will give you a little small peek into what part of my new kitchen looks like. Isn’t it so freakin’ beautiful?!? I LOVE how our home turned out, and I can’t wait to share the before and afters with you all once some small finishings are put in so that I can take my photos. It’ll be soon, I promise.
