Time to get some of my 2021 sessions blogged before 2022 hits, which isn’t that far away.

A whole new year is upon us, doesn’t it feel like it’s been going so fast between the years lately, maybe it’s this new normal of just making sure to get through each day in this weird yet somehow normal way of life.

This adorable family wanted to do their session along the trails they take walks on, when I checked it out prior to the session date I knew that the sun wouldn’t be low enough on the trail without any tree coverage to help, so we found a cute spot along the walking trail that led down to a slough, which at the time of the session was fairly dried up, this gave us space to explore and wander. And with toddlers you need space to explore, this helps keep them happy and interactive when you’re trying to take their photos.

And this little guy sure kept us moving during the whole session, he was having a great time; but there were a few way too adorable stink eyes thrown in too.

Kids run the sessions, if they’re happy and engaged that’s all that matters, it means they’re comfortable and can cheese it up for the camera. Sitting still and posing doesn’t always work great with little ones so let them move, explore and don’t stress about it, it’s my job to capture your family as they are, loving each other.
