Our 52 Group | A Blog Feature | One Subject 10 Ways | Dana
The Our 52 Lifestyle Group features are a little bit different this year. With participation being a little less over the years and not having the time to organize a blog feature for every few weeks, I decided that this year in the group we would do bonus challenges. Then, after people complete the bonus challenge I would do a blog feature on one or two of the challenge “winners”.
So for our first every 2025 blog feature I would like to introduce you to Dana and show of her challenge images for the 1 Subject 10 Ways bonus challenge.

Where are you from?
Fruita, CO
What camera do you shoot with? Camera body & Favourite lens?
Canon R6 and I only have one lens for it and it’s the 24-105 F4lens. I want the 50mm though and plan on getting that this summer.
How long have you been shooting for? What is your favourite thing to shoot?
I have been shooting since I was 15. Got my first camera from my dad. A Pentax that I still have. I’ve always loved shooting people. Families, kiddos, couples.
What inspires you to pick up your camera and your art?
Honestly, after moving to a new area 2 years ago and not being able to get much business these P52’s have been my outlet even though I haven’t finished one yet. This year is my year to finish them both.
Who would you say is your favourite photographer, or a photographer that inspires you?
Ansel Adams has always been one of my favourite photographers. His ability to capture so much detail, draw emotion, and his work is absolutely breathtaking. I’ve always wanted to be able to take landscape photos like he did. I’m just much better with portraits.
What’s your favourite dessert?
Cheesecake, any kind other than blueberry.
What is your favourite light and why?
Love golden hour for all the same reasons everyone does. Lighting doesn’t scare me if harsh though. you can create some amazing things in all kinds of light.
What is your favourite book, movie or TV show and song?
I have only started reading 2 years ago but nothing has been able to make me keep thinking about it like the Empyrean series. I can’t wait for book 4. Movie: The Fast and Furious series, TV show I have several but I rewatch One Tree Hill from start to finish every year. Song: I don’t have one. I haven’t just listened to music in a long time.
Tell us about your One Subject 10 Ways shoot. How did you come up with the idea and how did you plan your shoot?
So Anna sparked the idea with her book theme. My twins are teenagers who hibernate in their rooms. I wanted to do something with them and they both take music lessons. I bought sheet music scrapbook paper, taped it to the wall behind my daughter’s keyboard and did the shoot in her bedroom. It was fun doing something with them even just for a few minutes. I used some filters I just got to help create some fun new images as well.
And lastly, if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
My dream vacation is to Fiji. I’ve always wanted to go to Canada as well to see where my great grandma was from.
