Documenting a family session at the Cultus Lake Adventure Park was one of the most fun family sessions I’ve had to date. I mean, I love capturing families in beautiful locations with beautiful light, but being a fly on the wall and following along a fun day at the amusement park while your family just enjoys going on rides and eating cotton candy, can’t beat that. It’s stress free, just enjoy your time and soak up those little ones as they marvel at all the wonders of the park.

It may seem like it would feel weird to have someone following you around in a crowded place taking photos, but honestly, no one else paid any attention to what I was doing. How often do you get to have moments like this captured of your whole family together just enjoying themselves and it not being a crowded selfie in front of rides or landmarks? It’s a great reason to book an adventure session.

Barbie contacted me a day or so before their camping trip up to Cultus wondering if I could squeeze in a session at the adventure park after seeing my photos from a few years ago when I documented my kid’s at the park for my son’s birthday. She knew she wanted to capture her family in the same way at the park and I was definitely up for it. Their two kids were absolutely adorable, the blonde hair, beautiful eyes and those curls on little man, so cute. The kiddos had a blast going on all the rides they could, eating ALL the cotton candy and getting very sticky from it, and because they were able to move around and do what interested them there they didn’t worry about me capturing those moments of them and following them around with my camera, no fussing for being posed. Little ones love to move and this was a perfect place to do that. We were able to get in a few cuddle shots too, even at an amusement park there’s time for that. I almost wanted to share this whole session with you all, it was so hard for me to narrow down my favourites. I’m so glad Barbie and her family trusted me to capture these moments for them, I had the best time.
